File Server Conversion

In many small to medium offices, files are kept on local disk drives as opposed to a central file server. This is convenient at first, but eventually becomes an administration nightmare as other people need access to the same files. Eventually, one central computer becomes the file server for the whole office, and that one computer becomes unusable by the person who owns it.

Also, if your important data is on one computer and something happens to that computer, your data is lost. Linux offers several possible solutions (using free software) to this dilemma.

Here's what I will do for you:

I will evaluate your environment to see if a Linux solution is workable (it usually is).

I will take your data and put it on a Linux server and share it to the people who need access to it.

Optionally, I can configure a remote backup of your server to occur nightly so that should anything ever happen to your business your data will still be safe.
